Changed my life

Lost 40lbs in a year without doing a lick of exercise just following some of Tim's advice and entirely changing my eating habits. I feel better than ever eats beans+greens+proteins, went almost two years as a 90% vegetarian and was fat, felt like crap and was never satiated. Switched off the white carbs and sugars, went head-first into vegetables, animal proteins and beans and I will never turn back. Didn't agree with everything he suggests and the book gets way too technical for me in the later chapters but just the first few chapters is enough to become enlightened to a new approach and find the motivation to see the very attainable results through.

So, I wanted to see how lazy I could be with the slow carb diet and still lose weight. I cheated a little on the lunch meals, and would eat a little rice or a flour tortilla with my meal. Plus I would have a beer on Fridays. Though, my cheat day would be a little tame. I would do the normal slow carb breakfast, then follow it up with donuts, pasta, a six pack of beers, etc, but I just cant eat that much.

Im sure everyone is different, and cheating a little will probably screw some, but these are my numbers:
April 1: 76 kgs, 20% body fat
June 1: 72 kgs, 16.7% body fat

I started working out on June 1 on Mondays and Fridays:
1 x 75 reps kettle bell swings
1 x 10 reps pushups 5 sec down/5 sec up
1 x 15 reps slow myotatic crunches (ok 3 x 5 ugh)
1 x 3 reps 95% 1 RM followed immediately by 7 burpies with jumps
1 x 5-6 reps 85% 1 RM followed immediately by 7 burpies jumps

July 27: 74kgs, 13% body fat...body recomposition baby

My only "supplements" were Cod liver oil "Blue Ice", bulletproof coffee, and vitamin D3.

The book is incredible. Maximal gain for minimal effort is his motto, and this delivers. Im an average body type, a little more athletic than most 34 year old, working a desk job, and this was way better than I could possibly imagine. There are so many different ideas to play with in this book, and Tim even says to just skip around and try what interests you, which is definitely the best way to read the book. I keep finding gems like the section on sex. It has already helped there too!

A top-notch practical guide which can help you find a way to better health

Tim Ferris, as usual, delivers a top-notch, practical guide. I recommend the book for those that want to improve their life. I would add that the diet he recommends is very difficult to follow. I am learning a lot from the book, but personally will take that and make it work for me. Otherwise, I feel that it would just fail. With that said, it is well worth picking up. You will learn a tremendous amount about your body and the challenges of molding it into the form that you want.
