the book that will turn your children off junk food
By yidmama
I left the book on the kitchen table. My eight year son picked it up to read it because it is so colorful and small. It has nice illustrations. In 5 minutes, the book accomplished what I could not in years of parenting: it made him scared of eating conventional candy bars, potato chips, doritos, and similar junk food. In a plain simple language it explains the harm of the chemicals that they put into this food for children and adults alike, and offer some less harmful alternatives.

Book Review

Awesome resource! This book is so helpful, so easy to understand how to get healthy alternatives to your favorite treats and snacks. I love sweets and am always looking for products to satisfy my sweet tooth without sacrificing taste. This book does it! The nutritional information about all the products is so helpful. I've tried many of the healthier choices suggested in the book and they were all delicious! Thank you ladies for doing such a great job. I have it in my bag whenever I go to the grocery store to use as a reference guide. It's terrific!!

Unjunking Your Junk Food Just Got Easier!
By BigBinder
One thing I learned when reading Unjunk Your Junk Food was that there is a difference between Organic and 100% Organic on a label. Something that is Organic only has to be made with 95% of organic ingredients. Whaa?? What are the other five? That definitely made me start taking a second look at what I thought was a `best choice' when grocery shopping.

MSG and preservatives, especially, hide behind a lot of different names. The book names names and give you blow by blow information about specific brands and products that should be avoided, or that are good alternatives which helps a TON when you are shopping. For example; Fig Netwons have the preservative sulfur dioxide; but Barbara's Fig Bars are "Naturally Savvy Approved".

This is a great resource! I just wish the products that are approved were available in my area!
