It is packed with scriptures, and the teaching in this book will awaken those dry places, and totally pull the cover and turn the light on what literary ministry is all about, with God being THE #1 Focus. About the Author
Dr Jared Skowron, ND, is a graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon, and a professor of pediatrics at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He is a leading authority on naturopathic approaches to autism and ADHD; his research has been featured at the annual conference of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. Tried to explore other avenues for special needs behavioral and health issues and thought to buy this book. Not much useful content here. No data shown. I consulted my Pediatric MD Doctor about this book and lets just say this book was thrown in the trash. Glad to have an MD who understands my child.

About the Author
Morty Manus is president of Alfred Music Publishing Co., Inc. Founded in New York in 1922 by composer and musician Alfred Piantodosi, Alfred Publishing was purchased by Morty's father Sam Manus in 1928. A classical violinist, Sam decided to change the company's focus from pop sheet music to educational print music and added many solos for accordion and wind instruments. When Morty joined the company in 1952, he had recently received a business degree from City College of New York. Soon after, Sam retired and Morty became president. A clarinetist and pianist who received extensive musical training in his youth, Morty felt inspired by the need for quality music education products. Drawing upon his musical experience, he oversaw the development of an instructional series for accordion, followed by books for guitar and piano. Morty is the author and editor of numerous titles in Alfred's catalog, including many books in Alfred's Basic Piano Library. As the company expanded, Alfred outgrew its New York headquarters in 1975 and moved its offices to Los Angeles and its warehouse to upstate New York. Eventually, instructional materials were expanded into all areas of music, and on June 1, 2005, Alfred Music Publishing acquired Warner Bros. Publications from the Warner Music Group. Today, Alfred's roster of music editors includes such noted composers as Sally K. Albrecht, Gayle Kowalchyk, E. L. Lancaster, John O'Reilly, Anna Laura Page and Andy Albritton, among many other talented editors. Alfred's catalog consists of more than 45,000 active titles, making Alfred the world's largest educational music publisher. Although Alfred now employs 290 people worldwide, it remains a family business. Morty met his wife Iris when she was working for Alfred on Saturdays. Iris has worked on a full-time basis for Alfred since the late 1960s, and maintains the position of Executive Producer. In the 1980s, two of the couple's sons, Steven and Ron, joined Alfred. Ron is currently Chief Executive Officer. With the support and vision of his family, Morty is leading Alfred into the 21st century by continuing to expand into new technologies while adapting to market changes and keeping its company-wide commitment to service and music education.

I am a much older adult who took piano lessons for about six months when I was younger adult, I missed the piano. I now have my mother's piano that I can learn to play again. I love this "Teach Yourself To Play Piano," by Alfred. I have been learning to play as I go, a few minutes here and few minutes there and sometimes longer sessions. I needed lots of learning! I do not know the notes on a sheet of music, I needed something basic but not too basic to bore me to death.

The book is for "Beginners of All Ages." It progresses slowly with simple lessons learning the right hand, then the left hand and slowly adds the chords one note at at time. And before you know it, you are playing music when both hands. I have only been practicing for about a week or so, it takes practice! Learning to play the piano is not easy, but with practice you can do it. I find myself practicing more on the piano with this book more just because I am making progress and I like what I hear!

I am learning to count the notes to keep the beat, I start out very slowly and repeat lessons frequently until learned. And, I jump around in the lessons, going back to easier lessons and then progressing again. I am doing simple scales to get my weak fingers some exercise. I am still trying to coordinate both hands in playing the simple "C" scale.

Almost bought a metronome! I found an App for my telephone! It was free! A metronome ticks out the beats to keep you moving along as you are playing a song, so it sounds right. I am already looking to see what else this teaching series offers, I love the way he teaches. I am on page 37 and making progress, the more you practice the better you become.

In the beginning of the book, you will find notes that are numbered and marked with the notes.

I also bought a paper sheet that can be put behind the keys to let you know the keys. I rarely use it, but when a song does not sound right, I make sure I check the chart to make sure I am playing the correct notes, most often I am playing the wrong note. So, the paper chart helps a lot.

This book with DVD is absolutely fantastic! I never thought I would be able to learn the piano but this set makes it so much easier! The DVD follows everything in the book, page by page, with the benefit of the piano teacher providing a little more detailed information than the book provides. It's been a pleasure going from lesson to lesson always thinking that there's no way I can play what she just played. With a little time, I'm able to complete each lesson successfully and move on to the next one. The lessons are set out perfectly, growing your skills little by little. A+ in my book!! Not one regret with this purchase!!! The cost of this DVD far out weighs the cost of piano lessons. This is a steal!!!!!!!!

Great book. I'm 50 and teaching myself to play. This book goes step by step and gives great practice pieces. They may seem so simple, but there is a point behind practicing scales and such. I'm amazed when I can actually play one of their song pieces, and it sounds so pretty. It really is a great teaching book. I ordered this over a year ago, and just getting around to using it. Not sure if it came with the dvd or not. I think it did, but I can't find it. But it is still teaching me well with just the book alone.
